Sometimes the source of inspiration involves feelings and seasons of life. Moods, stress, joy, grief… hope. After losing my daughter almost 10 months ago, this past year, all my inspiration has revolved around my grief. But at other times in my life, it revolved around joy and curiosity.
This next image, “When Stars Return to Heaven,” was inspired by the tragedy of July 4th in Texas. The flood that killed at least 135 people, in which many little girls lost their lives. I was already broken for my own loss, and 3 months later, this happened. I felt the pain of all the ones grieving; the only thing I had left was to focus on heaven. Thinking that all these beautiful souls are shining from heaven, as my daughter is too.

So, hope is what we have left. How can we depict hope in photography? I guess it is a very individual vision.
