Sharing my Art and New Images

On February 17, I had the privilege of sharing a little bit about the concept behind my image “Asses at New Smyrna” at Snap! Orlando Gallery. The image is part of the 6th Annual Florida Showcase that will be up until March 9, 2024. This image is showcased at the gallery with many other incredible art, I was able not only to talk about my art piece but also I was able to listen to many great artists who like me were thrilled to talk about the concept behind the art pieces. Here is a video of my part of the artist talk.

I had experience with public speaking before, but this is the first time that I have had the opportunity to talk about my photography art. In November 2023, I presented the concept of my thesis project to the committee of my MFA program, my presentation was much longer and with more art lingo, but here I am just sharing it with art lovers and that for me has a whole different meaning.

New Work

Because this is a current project that I am always working on, here are some new images. Check them out and see what they are all about. To give you a hint they are about life and moving time.

Seven Weeks View

This image was taken a few weeks ago from the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, I was waiting for my daughter who was on her radiation treatment simulation. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the beginning of January, her radiation treatment will last 7 weeks. While waiting I walked outside and saw the rest of the hospital architecture and I loved the shapes, forms, colors, and patterns.

I found beauty while going through a hard time in my life. I thought about other people coming here for emergencies, I thought about the people that are receiving a new life in this place, a new beginning a new opportunity. This structure will be here for many years to come but, time for us still moving, so we better live life.  On another note, I love the fact that I was able to capture two people who stepped out of the ambulance and stood behind the fountain to talk.

Out and About

We were in the town of Winter Garden, which is the perfect place to take a stroll and get coffee with a friend or study at one of the coffee shops, there are restaurants, breweries, and more. We came to do the study thing at Axum Coffee shop, I left my husband at the coffee place and went for a stroll with my camera to see what other people were doing.

I sat down across from Rosalie’s coffee shop. I was people watching, people coming and going, biking, eating, shopping, and at the moment I pressed my shutter that was exactly what I captured, then life kept going.

The next two images are about my daughter, after the first day of chemo and radiation we went for a walk in a park. This project is not about my daughter, is about humans living life in a world where time doesn’t stop for us and the encouragement to live life to the fullest. Well, she is human so, she was my subject that day.

Paparazzing
Radiation

The literal meaning of the word Radiation is energy that comes from a source and travels through space at the speed of light. She is not only receiving radiation to her body to eliminate that tumor, but also so much love, and support from family, friends, and God that is the best energy source that one can have.

Well, that is for now, but be on the lookout for more new images, remember that you can order any of my images through my Store Page. Thank you for your support
